Fuelled by oil production, Angola is now Africa’s third largest economy and second largest oil exporter after Nigeria. And Luanda is at the centre of Angola’s growth, as it accounts for three quarters of the country’s GDP, and a quarter of the country’s population.
The country has launched an Angola 2025 programme, and Luanda is set to benefit from expansion of the physical and regulatory infrastructure.

The programmes created for the promotion of business and presently in force are characterised below in terms of their principal objectives and the benefits for investors:
–Support programme for Large Businesses and their inclusion in business clusters (PAGEC)
–Angola Invest – support for investment in SMEs
–“My business, My life” programme – part of Angola Invest although for the support specifically of small businesses
–Company transfer programme – incentives for the transfer of overseas industrial units to Angola
–Informal Economy Conversion Programme (PREI) – reducing the informal market by reintegrating informal market operators into society
–FACRA – “Angolan Risk Capital Fund” wich finances investors in SMEs at the start-up phase of their businesses.
