Benjamin is the Founder and Managing Consultant of Alor and Associates Limited. He is a Chartered Certified Accountant, a Chartered Global Investment Analyst, a Business Process Management Professional and an ardent management consulting practitioner with about 10 years of consulting experience in areas of Public Financial Management, Business Process Reengineering, Change Management, Financial Reporting, Auditing, Strategic Management, Planning and Budgeting. He holds a Bachelor of Education (Social Sciences) degree from the University of Cape Coast and an MBA (Corporate Finance) from the Webster University. He is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), UK, Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana (ICAG), Institute of Internal Auditors Ghana; Chartered Global Investment Analyst (CGIA) Institute; and Association of Business Process Management Professionals International, USA. Benjamin has undertaken several consulting engagements for local and international clients. His portfolio of clients includes: "¢ Ghana - The HuD Group, Power Consult, CRAN Microfinance, MANKO Quarry Limited, Ekumfi Quarries, Protea Coin Group Ghana Limited, Nsokot Mining, Merkot Pharmacy, Palmers Group, Pensworld Ghana Limited and Group Ndoume (GN). "¢ International - Heward Mills (UK), Coffey International (UK), Concern Worldwide (Liberia), Root Capital (USA), and Oxfam (Senegal) "¢ Assisted Projects - Olam Ghana, Volta River Authority (VRA), Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo), Ghana Oil Company (GOIL), Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL), Mohinani Group and Enterprise Group Limited (EGL). Benjamin has consulted on several donor funded projects. Notable among them are: "¢ World Bank Funded Local Government Capacity Support Programme (LGCSP) - served as Regional Technical Advisor (Revenue Management) for 11 Metropolitan and Municipal Assemblies spanning across 2 regions in Ghana. Supported these institutions to enhance their revenue generation capacity. "¢ UK DFID funded Ghana Revenue Reform Programme (L/MTO Tax Audit component) - led a team of Tax Auditors to audit over 15 Large Taxpayers on behalf of the Commissioner General of the Ghana Revenue Authority in Ghana. "¢ DANIDA funded Takoradi-Agona junction road project - led a team of auditors to audit the procurement phase of the project. "¢ DFID Led STAR Ghana project - led a team of auditors to review End of Project Balances reported by Various Grant Partners and report on same. "¢ World Bank funded Ghana Social Opportunities Project - led a team of auditors to review the procurements made and the procurement processes employed by the Project Management Office
Alor and Associates was established in March 2018 by law under Ghana's Companies Act 1963, ACT 179 (as amended). The company was founded by a young management consultant seeking to transform the Ghanaian consulting landscape and create that taste of consulting in Ghanaian businesses for Ghanaian consultants. It is asserted that Ghanaian businesses do not have taste for consulting and if they ever did they prefer an international firm.
The founder started as a sole practitioner, providing a wide range of management consulting services to local and indigenous Ghanaian businesses in the agribusiness and the manufacturing sectors of the Ghanaian economy. After running solo for almost a decade, A&A was birthed. The formation of A&A was nurtured by the desire of the founder and other young professionals to come together to work as a team and to build the capacity of the up and coming finance and accounting professionals.
Since its inception, A&A has focused on enhancing the productivity and profitability of its clients. We serve as an extension of our client’s management team and a strategic unit, providing opportunities for improvement in the way our clients conduct their businesses. We also help set the direction that will lead to the attainment of each client's respective goals and objectives.
A&A is currently managed by a young but experienced team of professional with diverse background and experience in consulting and with support from a team of associates running the day to day activities of the company. We have a formidable team of professionals working tirelessly on the entity's projects. Our team of experts have specialist knowledge in various disciplines, including internal auditing, planning and budgeting, social accountability, accounting, tax and business advisory, training, consulting, agribusiness management and human resource management. We also have association with specialist firms in the fields of Informational Technology (IT), Law and Academia for capacity building.
We organise our professional services into three main portfolios (i.e. Business Advisory, Financial Accounting and tax advisory services). Each portfolio provides industry-focused services, drawing upon the knowledge, skills and experience of suitably qualified, experienced people working within our network of specialist resources.
