Toms Eglitis assists clients on matters related to business, commercial and tax law issues. His practice is concentrated in commercial and general business litigation as well as employment and landlord/tenant litigation. He has also gained significant experience in representing companies in corporate and transactional matters, including business, investment, formation, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, and breach of contract matters. He also assists clients in the administrative process, including permit applications (residence permits) as well as real estate and construction matters. Prior to joining Baltic Law Offices, he served as an officer to the Legal Department of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of The Republic of Latvia.
The Latvian economy is based on service industries including transportation, information technology, and financial services. The construction industry also plays an important role, as do wood and forestry products, food processing, metalworking, and light industries (e.g., textiles). Tourism has been growing rapidly.
