Chairman ADAM Global judged Hult prize in London
Dr Tahir Akhtar, Chairman of ADAM Global, was asked to judge the Hult Prize 2015 in London. Founded in 2009 by Hult International Business School graduate Ahmad Ashkar, today the Hult Prize is the world’s largest student competition and crowdsourcing platform for social good. In 2012, President Bill Clinton named the Hult Prize in a TIME Magazine article that highlighted the top five ideas changing the world.
Each year, in partnership with the Clinton Global Initiative and Hult International Business School, President Clinton challenges students around the world to develop innovative social enterprises that can transform lives. The goal? To tackle the world’s most pressing global issues, from poverty to affordable housing.
Winners receive USD1 million in seed capital, as well as mentorship and advice from international business leaders to help launch their ideas. Regional contests are held each spring across five international cities of competition in Boston, San Francisco, London, Dubai, and Shanghai, culminating in a final competition and awards ceremony held in New York during the Clinton Global Initiative’s annual meeting in the fall. Regional event winners are also invited to join a summer Hult Prize Accelerator Program and given a one-year membership to the CGI.
The Hult Prize is made possible through the support of the Hult family, including Swedish entrepreneur Bertil Hult, founder of the world’s largest private education company, EF Education First, an affiliate of Hult International Business School.
